THE TEAM

THE TEAM

Our team shares a singular vision - to see themselves on ABB FIA Formula E World Championship podiums across the globe.

GIVE OUR DRIVERS AN EDGE WITH FANBOOST

All teams run on the same chassis and battery unit to ensure a level playing field. However, one advantage drivers can acquire comes from FanBoost. The five drivers with the most FanBoost votes are awarded a significant burst of power, which they can deploy in a 5 second window during the second half of the race.

SAM BIRD

SAM BIRD

British Racing Driver Sam Bird joined Jaguar Racing ahead of season seven of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Starting his racing career in 2002, Bird went on to forge a successful record of results in the sport’s junior categories before a number of key Formula 1 roles including testing duties for Williams and reserve driver for Mercedes AMG Petronas from 2011 to 2013.

In recent years Bird has tasted success in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Ferrari and the G-Drive Racing squad. The 34-year-old has competed in every ABB FIA Formula E race since the ground-breaking series began in 2014, securing eleven wins to date, most recently in Diriyah and New York City during season 7. Finishing 6th overall in the Drivers’ Championship, with three podium finishes, he continues to be the only driver to have won a race in each season
MITCH EVANS

MITCH EVANS

Mitch started karting at the age of 6 and won the New Zealand Grand Prix at 16. Mentored by former F1 racer Mark Webber, the young driver went on to win the 2012 GP3 title. Moving to GP2 in 2013 and at just 18 years of age, while still a rookie, Mitch became the youngest driver in GP2 history to stand on the podium after finishing third in Sepang, Malaysia. More success followed in 2015 when Mitch finished second at the 24 hours in Sepang, Malaysia.

Mitch made his ABB FIA Formula E World Championship debut with Jaguar Racing in 2016 when the British team returned to racing. In his second season with the team, Mitch, widely seen as one of the quickest drivers on the grid, secured a series of firsts for Jaguar Racing including a super pole, a pole position and a podium finish.

In 2019 his hard work paid off with his first ABB FIA Formula E victory in Rome. This was followed up by two further podiums in Bern and New York which led to a top five finish in the drivers’ standings

During the 19/20 season Mitch took a dominant victory in Mexico City and Pole Position and a podium in Santiago, Chile. He finished seventh overall in the teams’ standings. Mitch was joined in season 7 by driver Sam Bird to form one of the strongest driver line-ups on the grid.

The exciting season 7 saw Mitch finishing 4th in the Drivers’ Championship – his highest position to date. He had podium finishes in Diriyah, Rome, Monaco, London, and Berlin, as well as setting fastest laps in Rome, New York City and London.
